Hi All,
I have two system both MDK 8.1. I generally use webmail to administer them both.
However the
module 'fdisk' to view all the disk info on each machine does not work on one box. I
have
tracked the problem down to the webmin module checking '/proc/partitions'. it pulls
out the
data like:
Well, I finally got around to reading the msec man pages and
mandrakesecure.net article, and have made some changes. Something that's
behaving a bit weird, however, is a couple of the parameters. In my
level.local file, I have:
from mseclib import *
allow_reboot(1)
allow_user_list(1)
Hallo!
I've posted this problem in newbie's list with no luck.
I've got 4 ide controllers, all of them have 1 HD or CD connected as master:
DVD: hda, RW: hdc, HD1: hde and HD2: hdg
I've got kernel 2.4.18.8.1 installed, and bios recognizes both DVD and RW as

I'm using Mozilla 0.9.8 on Mandrake 8.2 and generally like it quite

typically do this by pressing altF2 and then typing (or selecting)
mozilla.) Then, in each separate instance, I open multiple tabs for
related pages.

In my earlier message, I noted that running msec after setting
password_aging(-1) in the level.local file was giving a message, msec:
unable to parse chage output, when running msec. The first time I ran it
after setting that value, I didn't get the error message - only on
subsequent runs.

It looks like msec doesn't know what to do with a -1 when it tries to list

You get the same -1 by using webmin to create a userid. I posted a

Hey David,
So you know if your patch was incorporated as an update for MandrakeUpdate?
If it wasn't it'd be nice if it did.

Here's the patch that allows msec to accept -1 as the password's age. It
was generated out of the discovery that webmin creates new user ids with -1
as their password age. Recent traffic indicates that there may be other
ways to cause chage to complain about a -1 age (and hence cause msec to

Try using a temporary swapfile to increase swap and see if the problem
goes away - if so your up for a re-partitioning. I regularly run out of
swap with gnumeric (often uses over a gig of it) and a quick swapon
saves the system from coming to an abrupt halt. Windows dynamic swap is

Thanks! Haven't tried it yet (have to find some space) but the
instruction are very clear and will make it easy.
I've taken the liberty of putting the entire post on a WikiLearn page,
