In your opinion what would be the best choice for a scsi controller for a

In the Winblows server or the linux box?
Winblows there is no way unless you want to do a reghack
In linux just do a /etc/rc.d/init/network restart
or
ifconfig "interface name" eht1 stop
ifconfig eth1 start

ok I tried to do a clean install last night on an AMD 1GHz with 256Megs w/ a
TNT2 ultra. Install went with out problems till the dreaded Xconfig.
It did detect my vid card but none of the settings during the test worked.
So I continued on and finished the install.
I then used Xconfigurator and
ipchains. Also along with ipchains use fireparse.pl. To configure ipcahins
you can use a webmin module or there are numerous FAQ and scripts to help
you configure it.

Wu-Ftp is not that secure in the first place you might want to think about
changing to a different ftp server. Try OpenBSD's port of their ftpd and
also try NcFTPd. Personally I recommend NcFTPd.

I forgot to ask you. I need to also know what interface is to your internal
network and what interface is to the internet.
For example:
eth0=Internal net
eth1=Internet or link to the outside world.

And AMD will always have the edge. Considering everything out of Intel now
days is vaporware. They can not even get their 1Ghz to run stable w/ a

Amongst the default types of installs that you given during installation.
One type of installation would be very welcome is a Trustix type of install
for servers. Were all the popular secure tools are used i.e. Ncftd, ssh,
ect... and no XFree86 stuff. just a suggestion :)

I think it is 35 feet...I do not remember, but to be on the safe side I
would place a hub or router after 30 feet... again I do not remember the
exact length, it also depends on the quality of the cable as well. "in other

No The Telnet Damon is not installed by default. You will have to install
the RPM.
cd /mnt/cdrom/M*/R*/
rpm -iv telnet-server-0.12-10mdk.i586.rpm
That will install it
