Hi , Here I am again, with some news ! You were right, Todd, it's a DMA problem. Booting with ide=nodma solve it. What puzzles me is that 1) the WD drive works fine with my MSI motherboard (Nforce2 chipset) and 2) The Fujitsi and the old IBM disk also have the problem with the bi-proc. mobo. And
