I've been using 9.1 on another machine, and it's pretty good. I don't know why it just

Hey David,
So you know if your patch was incorporated as an update for MandrakeUpdate?
If it wasn't it'd be nice if it did.

stop the dhcpd server altogether from running on that interface. Let me know if this is the case, as it'd be interesting to know.

Hey,
I found this article very useful:
http://www.mandrakesecure.net/en/docs/msec.php
So the command would have to be executed as root:
msec -o log=stderr
So to change to level 3 you would type
msec -o log=stderr 3
I hope that helps.

That's why I was thinking it may be something with permissions of whether a program can or cannot use certain hardware (/dev/sg0 in this case).

Is there any very detailed document explaining what changes happen when switching security levels in msec?

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has managed to install Win4Lin AND VMware on the same Kernel (the updated Mandrake 8.1 kernel), success or not, what things break, things that I need to be carefull about, and any info that I could get from someone who went through it.

There is Ximian Gnome for Mandrake 8.1, and it comes with Mozilla 0.9.7 . It's an overkill just to get mozilla, but it also updates other software.
I don't know if that helps.
