Hi,
Files in *nix are not dependant on file extentions to know how the file
should be dealt with, or what is reqired to work with it. Putting a "#" at
the beginning of a text file is *normally* just a comment however ... UNIX
looks at the first two bytes of a file to know what to do with it
Hi Barry,
I have two machines with Cambridge speakers and SoundBlaster Live
soundcards using the last driver released with LM 7.1 (emu10k1) One set of
speakers is just the 4 point and the other is FPS2000 Digital. Everything
sounds better under Linux to me =o\ I noticed when I first

but the answer was nothing.
However, I have to admit that I didn't test the Ctrl-Alt-F1 option. I would
try the next time.
But, I think

I was just wondering if anyone has installed 7.1 on anything closely
resembling a Compaq Armada
Actually I've checked a couple and even Compaq has a listing for the 7400
and 7800 models. So far all I'vefound is which actual server to use
(although there is conflicting information as to wether it is the SVGA or
S3 server I should try) but I am still trying to find what the chipset
