Yes, give Gaim a try. Gaim has supported ICQ for a very long time, but now
things are getting a bit m
Reported, the only client that works with the new server protocol, is ickle. You can
check that out at:
http://ickle.sourceforge.net/
I however have not compiled it, it complained about something I didn't have, and I
didn't have the time to find it and fix that problem.

You don't need to feel cut off from the world!
In LICQ choose to send your messges trough the server. I only don't
remember if it is a global choice or if you have to do this for each
name in your ICQ list.

and get away from it. get some oxygen flowing back to the brain and all that. when i
did i realized what the darn thing was telling me. it couldn't find gtkmm-config. that
file is contained in the package libgtk
