For the current version of VMware, D3D (or more generally all 3D
acceleration cards) won't work (cf VMware website). If your games don't use
intensive 3D functions, D3D in software

ok...I'm a little confused here. If the toolbox is already included in
this version of VMware how do I use it. The only thing that happens when I
click on "Install VM toolbox" is it asks me if I want to read the
documentation. I haven't seen how to use it yet.

Daniel,
I haven't installed the Tool box yet. Actually until I got your message I
was wondering where I could get it. I wouldn't mind speeding things up a
wee bit and stretching the screen some would be welcome also.

You can get a "test" registration number (good for a month) at their website.
I've gotten several months worth of these until I finally decided I didn't need
to run windows anymore. They also offer an "unsupported" license for 99$, I'm
not sure if you can use t

yes...I did all that today and it runs fine. Well as fine as it can run
till I get the stinkin lisence for it. I don't see that happening any time

I use VMWare at work to run WinNT under Mandrake 7.0 (solely to access
my e-mail on Outlook).
Have you tried to create a new configuration using the configuration wizard? It
will setup a "virtual machine" file, then once that is setup, you can select
which machine you wish to run in the lower hal

Hi List,
Yesterday I saw something in one of the posts about Vmware and decided to
go and get it. It's installed and working, but I have No idea how to use
it, nor where the documentation is for it. The `man' page is really no
help at all. Anyone have any suggestions on where to find info for thi
