How do I get my joystick to work with mandrake and quake???

I have a basic Reveal 2 button joystick. I managed to get it
working...sortof...in that if I run jstest on /dev/js0 it sees the joystick
and joystick inputs are recognized.
I have the game Terminus, the only game I have right now that rather needs a
joystick to properly play. The game does
I have the joystick module enabled in my kernel how do i use it IE: with
Quake2 or VICE?

I appreciate some help getting my joystick working. I modprobed joydev,
ns558 and analog, but when I jstest /dev/js0, I get no such device?!
Any ideas? Using 2.4 kernel the sound card is SB64. Thanks in advance,

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me how to set up a joystick under Linux. Also, does the throttle control and the VOP buttons work under Linux or is that just wishful thinking. I have an A4Tech Scrollfire SF-5 joystick. Please help.

recognize my logitech joystick (digital 3D). It is attached to my SB live! soundcard
gameport. the soundcard is detcted fine under the 2.4.8-34 kernel according to
harddrake.

Yes - emu10k1 is for the soundcard itself, while emu10k1-gp is specifically
for the gameport
