VernI've used the desktop update icon extensively in mandrake 6.0 and 6.1 and it worked just fine, but since installing 7.0 every time I've checked there's been nothing to update. I believe I'd uninstall all three netscape rpms and then hand install the new ones. You can do this on the comma

I have used update with 6.1 with no problems but I suspect that update had some difficulty with the rpm name. Your previous version of netscape was netscape-common-.rpm and the new crypto version is netscape-128-common-.rpm (same for netscape-communicator and netscape-navigator. When I saw

Verntry opening a console window (the monitor icon on the panel at the bottom of the screen) and typing netscape. If it doesn't execute, it should give you an error message. You could also type netscape-navigator and/or netscape-communicator and see if they act any differently. Alan vern
