Go into the BIOS and make sure that you have AGP set to 2x instead of

I did, (Enabel ASP 4x is now set to False).
If there are options to turn of FASTWRITES and SIDEBAND ADDRESSING turn
off both.
Could only set FASTWRITES to disable

Hi Erik,
I've also got it to work without any problems: I've installed the Kernel
source from the 2nd CD (required to compile NVidia kernel module correctly).
Removed all libmesa stuff. Used the tar.gz files to compile install the
drivers modules

I have now tried several times to compile my Nvidia driver (from Nvidia)

Hi.
First of all I installed LM8 last night and it worked fine for me. But
acording to LM:s homepage LM8 cames with accellerated 3D for a number of
vendors (Matrox, Nvidia, ATI(?)) but it doesn't seam to be aktivated.
I started with adding Load GLX and Load dri to the XF86Config-4 (I'm
useing
to delete all the
'/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so*').
Hmmm... With rpm did you use? There aren't any drivers for LM8 the
closesed is for RH7.1 that use 2.4.? kernel.
...or did you use src.rpm?

Hi I'm trying to compile NVidias driver for my Asus7700 card and I have
LM 8.0b (with kernel 2.4.2). On top of that I have two processors (SMP).
First of all when doing rpm --recompid NVIdia-kernel-0.9-769.src.rpm it
works fine but it dosen't add "-D__SMP__" or "-DCONFIG_SMP" when
compiling.

Of topic but where can I get hold of RealPlayer 8?
