1. Did they use the 3-way [felv fiv heartworm] elisa test? This test has a
history of large numbers of false positives.

Yes, an open-minded vet willing to look into new things is key. CCC has always
been open to all of the information I've sent them over the years; willing to
discuss issues etc. I am also the one who introduced them to Rescue Remedy! :)

well, my ninja was 4-5 when she came to me and all that I know about her
previous history is that she was indoor/outdoor and spayed. she'd been with me
for about 4 years when she started having problems and it was another 5 months
or so before I had her tested for FeLV and she was positive, but
oh thank the gods - a friend i know? I've been sending GLOW steadily and don't
know anybody local there I could call.

I think your precautions aren't necessary if your neg is up to date with
vaccinations. I wouldn't be worried at all and would think about starting to
introduce them properly.

With a positive Elisa test, the next testing step would be IFA, if that's
available. This usually gets sent to a lab.
It does sound like the next treatment step would be a transfusion.

Oh Laura, I am so sorry. I highly doubt that the LTCI was a contributing
factor, but I'm not a vet. Some kitties' bodies just can't handle those drugs
and she might have had an underlying problem with her heart that contributed.

Both of my babies are due for check-ups and I had them run estimates on titres
and shots etc. I personally believe that vaccinations should be reserved for
when they're needed medically. I have signed legal waivers in the past to
forgo the rabies shots for my boys. But when cost is an issue,

LOT of reactions to the 3 year shot.

you wouldn't substitute the pheno w/steroids, but it all depends on the cause
of the seizures. my Ninja had seizures that started out once every few weeks
and ended up being 5-7 a day - I spoke with several vets and we started her on
prednisone under the supposition that my positive kitty had a

could fix that - I don't know about the other forms ssri's come in (fluoxetine
is an ssri) e.g. pill, capsule, injection etc

Prednisone can be very effective with helping a number of things, you simply
have to be aware of its effect on the immune system with long term use and
weigh the benefits. With my Ninja, it controlled her seizures (believed to be
caused by a meningioma) quite w

the boys their 3 yr rabies shot as they never go outside AND they have an
in-house waiver that parents have to sign when they choose not to give the
rabies vacc for whatever reason.

Rubbermaid also makes high sided boxes with an entryway in one of the short
sides. The ones I have have 11" sides (on the 3 sides) and I've seen Bandit
actually standing up and tinkling against the side, so it's definitely high
enough - and he can be a vigorous digger too. I got them at petsma
we can't forget that when they're showing symptoms of a UTI and they pull urine
for analysis, that a gram ID and sensitivity test has to be done in order to
identify the buggy that is the culprit so they can give the correct abx.

That's what I do too. The s/o NORMALIZES the pH of the urine which deals with
both struvite and oxalate AND makes it OK for the kitty without the problem to
eat it too.
The only thing you really have to worry about is that the s/o is a pretty high
calorie food.

search) but they'd still have to phone the script over and the petsmart has
better hours.
