Chuck,
I used to have a PC with this particular problem until I realized my
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) was surging just enough to make the
computer think I hit the power button. Any chance that you have a UPS that
needs it's battery fixed.
Hope this helps,
Allen

A composer dropped some music on me and then disappeared from town before I
noticed that he has used "D-" as a chord. It is just a lead sheet at this
point, so there is nothing to support my assumption that he means Dm. Yes?

I was just reading this new book and some ideas expressed by mr. Powell urge

I first have to say that there are a lot of interesting things in this book.
The staff sizes chart at the beginning is one good example. I would have

I sent the paragraph about John Cage's publishers to a lawyer friend of

that it was a put-on. His reply:

Replying to myself:
I hadn't read Randolph's post properly, and replied thinking about something
else.
This problem can indeed be caused by Energy Saver settings. Sorry about the
confusion!

On a list devoted to words I came across "prick-song", which apparently refers
to written music, i.e. music sung from pricked (written) notes rather than from
memory. The term is new to me. Anybody out there know anything about it? Here are two
references:

Thanks - we've checked that, over and over, and it's something more mysterious.
My student computer gurus, kids who've lived with these things all
their lives, can't seem to figure it out either.

This behavior by the computer might be caused by settings in the
Energy Saver Control Panel. Check your settings under the schedule
tab or the advanced settings tab.
