Robert,
Thanks for the lead on the Stealth driver, but alas, same result. MIDI is
clearly getting from my KX88 to the MTP2, since my Mac recognizes the
interface and lights up when I play notes on the KX, but that's it. I can't
get any MIDI piped to any connected device. 1Mhz or Fast, it doesn

To use your serial MTP2 in OSX, you do NOT use the MOTU driver. You use
the serial coremidi driver that you can download from either GeeThree or
Griffin. This driver is *in addition* to the OSX serial driver software.
Then you set up your midi interface in AM Setup by selecting the serial

You might want to check the MOTU-Mac list on Yahoo Groups. I remember
there was a discussion about it a few weeks ago..

It's not really that MOTU is supporting USB only interfaces, it's a Mac
OS X thing. OS X doesn't support serial interfaces. The Griffin Serial
port adapter seems to work ok from what I hear on the MOTU list I
subscribe to.

Um, well, from what I understand, OS X doesn't support serial ports
anymore. You could try getting a Griffin Serial thingy. On the MOTU list
some people have been able to get it to work ok

Maybe I'm missing something. On OS 9 everything was installed for the
interface via FreeMIDI. OS X has its own CoreMIDI. The only file that MOTU
has on their site is for USB MIDI interfaces, and mine is a serial MTPII,
guided by the MIDI driver and plug in from Griffin Tech. Do I need an

Did you try reinstalling (or updating) the driver for your MIDI
interface? I have had to reinstall mine from M-Audio a couple of
times...

I have your exact same setup, and I can assure you it works. Here are
some things to try.
1. Download the (free) Sibelius demo and see if you can get it to work
with MIDI. This is an easy way to test that your midi setup works in OSX
outside Finale.
2. Try going into the Hyperscribe click setu
OK, I'll be the first to admit I am a relative novice to OS X, but then,
like so many Finale users here, I have to earn a living and as of today, OS
9 is the only way I have been able to productively work with Finale.
So now FinMac 2k4 arrives and I think, OK, let the migration to OS X begin.
