Rod,
I opted for the smaller bell of the 2905 because I prefer
a punchier tone--TO ME, the bigger-bell horns
seem less "pungent" or I don't respond to them as well.
BTW, the 2905 does away with all the "armor
plate" on bottom and side the horn, Those plates add
significantly to the price of a W

Interesting thread. I play a 2950 for 3 years now. The decibel level resides
solely with the practitioner! I chose the 2950 because of the 'Large Bore'
and also decided on the Bach Stradivarius with a 'Large Bore'. Sound is
delightful. Full, round and with the option of 'decibels' to the max, i

Chuck and list...
I am also of the opinion that things are getting louder, especially in
orchestras...I had a discussion with Harvey Phillips a while back about it, and
he feels the same way. Compared to 50 or so years ago, the low brass are
gigantic in bore size. What was a bass trombone back

OK, Andrew,
I am not nearly as knowledgeable as you about older music, but I am
surprised by the 1910 - 1935 comparison. I don't doubt that you have
good information about this, and I am curious about it.
In my own 70 years (I realize that's the history of me, not the
history of music!),
Does it look like they've fixed the "tie" problem as far as not being
able to put "half ties" in certain places?!

I'm pretty sure it's written in conventional notation, with just a few
additional symbols to indicate how to play particular passages. This is

Arnold,
The full version of GPO has keyswitched brass instruments (marked
with the "KS") suffix that include muted versions. Getting muted
playback is as simple as creating a "mute" or "con sord." etc
expression -- Human Playback handles the rest automatically.
