They replied asking if my computer has an Intel chip, which it does - I

Friends:
I would elaborate my earlier comments just a bit. I wrote that I make
the decision as to whether I'm going to do individual or separate files
before entering a note. I've not yet run into the case where I couldn't
decide which way I wanted to do it, but if I thought there was any

Dear Chuck and all.
I have one of those Radeon 7000 and it is not versavision capable. The card
has DVI ouput but it is not too speedy as Darcy said. Maybe with the new
ROM...
But the ATI Radeon 9200 (with 128 Mb) is only 130 bucks at owc.com

Hi Eric,
See later posts. I bought one of the early G5s which didn't have ATI
cards.
Seems as if the 9200 will be OK - $130 at my local dealer, but I'll
look on ebay to see if it can be found there for less.
Thanks to all - Darcy and Robert.

I have a feeling the 7000 Mac Edition (which, if I recall correctly,
has just 32 MB of RAM) might be a touch underpowered for a 24"
monitor. And is using the screen in rotated mode still more sluggish
than using the screen in standard mode? I remember when this feature
was first introduced

Check out ebay for a Mac 7000 Mac Edition (the earlier ATI PCI card), which I
believe with the latest ROM update is Versavision capable.

If your G5's main video card is not made by ATI (which you can check
in your System Profiler), then installing any Mac-compatible PCI-
based video card from ATI will do the trick (this is assuming you
want to add a second card, not replace your current card). I believe

In fact, you might already have a card in the G5 that supports it.

Hi Tim,
Your system is newer and has a graphics card that supports rotation.
My graphics card does not.

I've never seen the eyeglasses in any published score I've ever

I'm working on a large score and it is time to get a card that will
allow rotation of my 24" monitor into portrait mode.
I have an early single processor Mac G5, and I'm looking for a
recommendation of the least expensive graphics card that will support
Versavision. I have no special need

you can do this even though you want NTFS, or do you have to stay wit
