This may be a daft question, but they're not on DVD disks are they? I had a problem with the DVD version of Finale even though my computer had a DVD drive which would read normal video DVDs. Once I changed to the CD version the problem disappeared. Cheers, Lawrence

The PDFs open on another machine :) I assumed the trouble was NOT my laptop cd reader, because I was able to open CDs that the library had just sent a week ago. So it seemed very logical that the trouble was the CD ROMS, not my laptop. I do think the troublesome CD ROMS have something about them

No, the media that's giving me a hard time are CD ROMs. But I've had mucho troubles with DVD Roms failing. I had a disk that would not read, and a friend suggested that sometimes making a copy of of the DVD would take care of the trouble. Sure enough, it worked. I have no idea why it did, but the

Greetings, Just a quick question here, I am working with a symphonic score, and I want one staff to be in 12/8 and the rest to be in 4/4 (or common time). Later in the piece I want one staff to be in 4/4 while all the others are in 12/8. Any suggestions? Thanks for all your help. Derek

Once again I had this problem on my old computer when I had memory issues. (512Mb of RAM) It was especially bad when other programs were running in the background. Since changing to a 2gb machine I have not had this problem. All the best, Lawrence ___
