letter-size (or folded tabloid, same difference) is E.C. Schirmer.
In fact, I just received a box of scores from them that, when you
look inside and notice the amount of white space in the margins, are

FWIW: Rather than mess with the "new" (as of Fin04) "smart" hyphenation,
I reverted the setting back the old style. The only problem I had with
the old hyphenation was its failure to continue past the first system.
But the solutions for this are far easier than working around the

Does Finale 2008 save SmartMusic files that smartmusic 10 can read? I
mean, Finale 2007 came out in August of last year (I think), and it
wasn't until they got around to releasing SmartMusic 10 in April of 2008
that I could ditch Finale 2006.
I had written before --and have seen much said about--Finales horrible
handling of importing midi files.
The specific subject I wrote about was repeated notes/chords that
Finale generates, while also truncating durations, due to its limit of
only two voices per staff/track allowed, and that only
I know Tom Johnson, and he always does things 3 times too fast for
me. Doesn't stop me from finding him to be a good guy, however.

Hi, Nick...
Thanx for dealing with this.
Perhaps I am guilty of some confusion. I ordered mine via Sylvia Woods' Harp
Center, as I was unfamiliar with Bill himself at that time...my one
recollection was my saying "gee, that's a steal" and jumping on it. Let me see
what I can find, if anything.
I have the 4 version. Bill did send me the Jazz Articulations when he
released them. So, what exactly has changed in this version? Is there a
lower price to get updates for existing users?

Allowing the purchase of individual fonts would certainly be helpful
for a number of the people I work with. They don't need the full
package, they just need the Chord fonts.
