I'd be curious to know how the new Staff Assignment Lists address the concerns of some of the heavy users of the old Staff Lists. I'm disappointed that they changed the hard-code of Score Lists from 4 to 8. That just clutters up the interface with unneeded junk for most of us. It would have

[Finale] WinFin 2009a and the toxic file and Rant

2008-10-29 Thread Howey, Henry
I downloaded and tried the improved 2009 last evening. If anything, Finale shut down even faster than before;-( The toxic file is even moreso. Generally, I've been able to handle the less than ideal choices MakeMusic burdens us with to keep those dollars flowing in annually. 2007, for example

[Finale] 2k9 Observations

2008-10-29 Thread Noel Stoutenburg
Friends, I've installed Fin 2k9, and have been exploring the new simple entry tool. I'm working on my first major project, to see which of the bugs (well, I would categorize them as design flaws) I've seen since the first version of Finale I've used still persist. My text score is a typical

Actually, they are used with the selection tool and the tuplet tool. I don't believe that they're used with articulations or Expressions. On Oct 29, 2008, at 6:18 AM, Aaron Sherber wrote: At 06:02 AM 10/29/2008, Lawrence David Eden wrote: What are Font Annotation Files and what do they do?

Hello, I have been using 2009, and generally speaking, things are fine with me. However, my normal process is the export to EPS and convert that to a pdf booklet (using InDesign or PStill/CocoaBooklet). I've run into two problems. First is that for some reason (maybe due to my recent

Are you WIn or Mac? I had some font problems when I upgraded to Leopard, but I was able to fix them by initializing the Leopard font cache. Other than that, print to PDF works like a dream for me. On Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 7:01 PM, David Froom [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hello, Can anyone tell me

[Finale] Staff Assignment Lists

2008-10-29 Thread Robert Patterson
The most interesting enhancement in the new Fin09a release was staff assignment lists, especially as I had made a lot of noise about Staff Lists after Fin09 came out. MM has upped the number of true staff lists (now renamed Score Lists) to 8. I think this may just wave the red flag again,
