I went to their site to pose a question, but the answer already was
there. Duh. It says (quote):
Changing the color for highlighted items in Finale 2008
Question
The color that Finale uses to highlight measures and other items seems
too dark. Can I change this somewhere?

Aah, found it, thank you.
The change is system-wide, but I can live with it.
Also, please note that Fin2008 is not officially supported on

Yes, this has solved the problem.

Okay, next stupid question (probably). I think the blue of the selection
tool is way too dark. Is there a place where I can change it to a
lighter shade? (I have searched the help files for the word color, but I

I haven't searched for the word colour yet. Would that help? :)

You're on Windows? Finale uses certain default highlighting colors
assigned by the system. There is no way to change this from within Finale.
Aaron.
I doubt it. They use exclusively US spellings, like color
throughout the documentation.

So you are saying that it could be changed from within Windows?
Why do I suddenly find the colour too dark? I can't remember it being so
dark, strange.

Possibly, but I don't know the details of XP and Vista color schemes.
(I'm on XP, but I'm running a custom Classic scheme.)

I think I find it too dark because I can hardly see the contents of the
selection anymore. Have they changed that then? I don't have F2007
running anymore, so I can't check.

HI all,
Let's agree on what we are talking about here. For me, the problem (Fin
2008) is not with the tool (icon) being too dark, it's any measures
selected with the tool. I can't see what I have selected; on my screen the
selection turns a very dark blue-green (Win 2000 Pro).
