Dear Dennis,
If it only that one note head, it may be easier to edit the Font
Annotation for it in 2007, then all converted files with that note
head will read correctly.

you have trouble and need more details, someone
will no longer run
on currently shipping Macs, so I'm gradually scouring my files and upgrading

Subject: [Finale] Converting old files: ties
This is the biggest problem Finale has had for years. Upgrading files is WAY
back on their priority list. I have been battling this problem since 2.0.
The issues you bring up are big but over the years it has been much worse. I
have told every client I work with that if you are planning on

So what this means is that you have to keep all old versions
of Finale and use for each file the version in was created in.
My experience is that the upconvert from Fin97 forwards was quite good:

I think MM changed what items are influenced by font annotation
files. For instance, ties on rhythmic notation used to ignore font
annotation files -- now they observe them.
Is it possible that something like this is going on here?
It certainly is possible. If it is so, it helps

Dennis,
In that case, you can make two different copies of the Font
Annotation file -- one that matches the old positioning (for opening
old documents), and one for use for when creating new documents.
