As others have already explained, this is indeed possible. However, in
my experience, it is far too much trouble to bother. Just make a copy of
the score file, use that only for the parts (you don't need to extract

In the Fin07 and Fin08 default file, there are two new staff style
called 'Blank Notation with Rests'. This hides any notes in the
measure and replaces them with whole note rest

know exactly what is cued into the other parts.
