In the Fin07 and Fin08 default file, there are two new staff style called 'Blank Notation with Rests'. This hides any notes in the measure and replaces them with whole note rests. What you want to do is apply the staff style to the cue note measures in the score, and then delete it from the part. This will show rests in the score and cue notes in the part. Assuming that your cue notes are in layer 4, you want to use the style called 'Blank Notation with Rests: Layer 4'.

If you're working from an older template, you'll need to define this staff style first. In the staff style definition, the only thing you want to change is to check Alternate Notation, and then select Blank Notation with Rests and have it apply to notes in layer 4.

Note that this is not a foolproof method, and there are times when it won't hide everything you want to because of how things were entered in your particular situation. I still find for most of my work that it's easiest to have a score file and a (single) parts file.

Aaron.
