sorry, melinda, i've just found out that silc is a Fink package! but
its package name is "silc-client"!
you need to install Fink first, if you don't have it on your machine.
and if you have it already, just type "sudo fink install silc-client".
or do you have a problem with Fink installation?

The Fink installer in the download section of our website works just fine
on 10.2.x -- what problem are you having, exactly?
i STILL haven't managed to install fink running 10.2.2 and apple
announced 10.2.3 today.
i have not installed it yet but will it need another package to install
it/

nice enough to give me a silc shell so i haven't tried ins
