Please do not downgrade dlcompat...
If you had trouble with the lib being missing from a binary
install, do fink rebuild dlcompat.
I haven't figured out why some people get this missing lib, I
can't duplicate it.

Yup, this is the problem I have as well. c++filt says that that symbol
translates to:
non-virtual thunk to QWidget::metric(int) const
...which I have no idea how to fix. :)

Thanks for the info. I had the latest version. I just had left out
-L/sw/lib (since I'm trying to get this to compile ourside of fink). But,
alas, after this was fixed I get the same error as before:
