This *is* affected by linking /sw to another location, because of the leading
/sw in the path.

Not finkized, but OpenOffice.org writes the files as .xml beautifully.
It is opensource, and its n

Fernando, Ben,
Thanks for your feedback. I had already changed the paths in the build

after using the information in the updated FAQ either.
I suppose I have to dig a bit deeper.

Good point, I assumed that he would go and read the package's "README" or
"INSTALL", which typically say what to do to change the default library
path.

Hi all,
New to the list. I was scanning through the archives and saw that
python-mysql is not among the existing packages, so I tried to build it
myself. Having failed (for anyone interested, the errors are inlined
below), I wanted to ask if anyone has built/is planning to include this

Possible cheat: save as CSV/TSV/etc, then set the file extension to .xls.
Recentish versions of Office just might be smart eno
If it were me, I'd ask the prof if I could submit a tab delimited file.
Excel can open that kind of file "almost" directly.

Hi,
Do any of you know of a (preferably fink-ized, preferably open
source) spreadsheet program that can *write* ".xls" files? My
physics professor requires us to turn in our experiment results
in that format, and running down to the computer labs at school
isn't my idea of a good time.
AFAICT,
On MacOS 10.2, the command `sudo fink update-all' fails on the link of

Well, I completely wiped (as recommended) and reninstalled fink. The
basepath is correct (/sw). I also added unstable to fink.conf as
recommended as well. I did a build and had readline problems. So I
did a cvs self update and readline built fine... but after the cvs

Hi,
In the page http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/package.php/emacs21
version 2-6 appears to be in the "current-stable" but it does not
appear in the list of packages shown by dselect and "apt-get -s
install emacs21" gives "Couldn't find the package".

The threaded XFree86 4.2.0.1-1 has been released on Fink.
OroborOSX-v0.8b2 contains a private XDarwin within its package.
How does this new XFree86 impact OroborOSX-v0.8b2 use of a private XDarwin?
Should we use the new XDarwin?
Can the new XDarwin be modified?
There once was an interleaving sc
