I've also heard that sand colic is an issue for horses in Florida. I was
told by someone who lives down there they have a regimen of some sort of
feed through on a regular basis to purge the sand.

Dry and hot in the summer. How often do you see reports on the weather
channel of it being over 100 degrees in Arizona? Of course, since there's
no humidity, the heat isn't nearly so bad!
Speaking of which, how do Fjords deal with heat?
