After reading your emailI think you are a born salespersonmaybe

Hi - this is a question especially for fjord owners in my state of

The "auction" mare, as Sue said, was lumpy fat, no forelock, and she had
small, pig eyes. Not terribly Fjord typey. My impression of her was
short, fat and squatty. She did not come with papers. Why did I buy

At the Troyer Auction the past spring there were 11 fjords up for auction alI
were either unregistered or registered FBA (if you can call that registered,
sorry I have a bad attitude about the FBA). Karen Keith of this list
purchased a homely red dun mare
there
somewhere.
Be aware that the auctions held in the Sugarcreek/Mt. Hope/Kidron area
(Holmes County, OH) draw people and stock from all over the country so if it
were true the source wouldn't have to be local. On a recent trip to the
area I talked with one of the local carriage makers

Gail,
What I heard through this rumor is that at this OH auction, Fjords get run
through at a regular basis and sold at $600-$800. I was asked if there was a
large breeder in the area.

Instead of all the worry about horse thieves, why not just bring back the
old penalty for horse thievery. The crime would go away quite quickly after
the first few necks were stretched! It wouldn't be a bad idea for the modern
version auto theft, either.

Vivian, I agree with you on that point. We have rescued 2 fjords, so far.
They are harder for us to resell because of past experiences or lack of. We
work hard to retrain or just train. Two others were purchased from auction
by friend
