I agree with Bill on this both from my understanding of how the sound
hosts work, the drivers work on D44, Presonus, and Lynx (my
understanding is not applicable to others) and better yet, on
observation using my 4 trace oscilloscope making measurements!

Chris,
Hi, my name is Tim and I am an SDR-1000 user. And damn proud to be one.
You have experienced a phenomenon that is common to the reflector for
new and interested users; one size doesn't fit all. There are a lot of
people with varying levels of expertise in many different areas that
hang
It is enjoyable if your PC can handle it. The panadapter becomes twice as
wide (not just the SPEC mode). The block latency is cut in half. It will
increase your CPU load. If it goes from 7% to 12% though, I'd call that a
net win.

Tim, if you aren't on the Flex payroll, you should be (or at least get a
commission :^). You are indeed a champion for the cause and I admire your
efforts to help those seeking advice. Kudos to you.

Nope. Not on the payroll and no commission is necessary. My
compensation is the satisfaction of knowing that I possibility helped
someone out and because of it has joined the ranks of Flexers world
wide.
I believe strongly that SDR in this format is the wave of the amateur
radio future. The

There is a slight loss as you widen to 96 kHz. The noise power going
into the process increases (double the power) as you widen the front
end, but a lot of that is regained through processing gain by the
filtering in the system. Naturally there is no such thing as a perfect
transfer
Bhhh. Believe it or not, I once repaired a Cray Supercomputer at
the end of a several thousand mile long teletype link using ascii art.
In the ascii art diagram, arrange it so the top line and middle ZERO
(zero frequency) line up. The line of carets in the third line are

Hi Chris,
I'd like to add that you don't need technical
experience to get started using the SDR-1000.
Just use the PowerSDR Quick Start Guide found
on the Flex Radio web site-
http://www.flex-radio.com/downloads.htm#PowerSDR
and also download the Official Release of
the PowerSDR software.
So, when we go to 192 KHz sampling rates, the DSP buffer will be to be
increased to 4096 tap filters to get the same approximate performance?
I am assuming this relationship is linear.

Chris Since I don't know what you know about flex-radio resources
available I'm just gonna dump the most important ones at you. The
flex-radio.com website has some good hints and tutorials on setting up
the radio including whats needed for different modes. If you didn't know
you can dwnload the
Chris,
I'm an SDR-1000 owner in New England - Shrewsbury, MA, to be exact. If
you'd like to get together sometime for a demo, email me off-reflector and
maybe we can set something up.
As others have already mentioned, the family of SDR-1K users is a diverse
and varied group (which is great) --

If you have lots of wiggles on the Delta 44 Mixer Panel for IN 3 and no
output on SSB Tx, why or where?
MixW is set up and running fine on digital modes. TX Meter reads 0dB
+/1 a
few 10ths.
SSB and MOX with lots of wiggles on the Delta 44 Mixer Panel, TX Meter
never moves
Do you have VAC Enabled? You may want to try using the VAC Auto Enable that
will disable VAC when in modes other than DIGL, DIGU and DRM. We will
eventually have a VAC Enable button on the front panel.
