When PortAudio builds its index of devices, hosts, etc., it choose to
run through the devices, hosts, speeds, depth, etc. by setting rather
than assume you are an adult. It is one of its major drawbacks. You
should see how long it takes for PortAudio to initialize on my machine
when I have
This is probably only of interest to the developer types.
Anyone know how to get Visual Studio to debug into native code from the
PowerSDR C# code? I'm trying to run down a bug where PortAudio
initialization resets the Delta 44 sampling rate even when another
soundcard is setup to be used with

Why isn't the PA used on 6M?

Jerry,
You are reading the specifications correctly. Six meter output is only one
half watt on 6 meters.

Specs of the rig says: 100 Watt PEP HF, 500mW 6m. Is this correct for
the version with the 100W PA - only 500 milliwatts on 6M?
I see that the "accessory" PA module is rated at 100W on all HF bands
(50W on 60 meters). I presume this is the same PA module that comes
in the 100W version.

What ever it was it is now fixed. I downloaded the 1.6.2 data base and
all is well. I must be careful what button I push. W8XO

What have I done? While in the latest svn (660)I punched the "reset all"
button and now my am carrier level is 3 watts and the tune level is 1
watt. The sound card (Delta 44) output is down 7 or 8 db too so this
must be where its at..
The other versions (1.6.1 and 1.6.2) Show the proper carrier
Tim,
Thanks for the idea, downloaded the version 3.12, and also tried the newest
4.1(?) version. But same freeze up on loading at the Initializing
PortAudio.
Otherwise , without VAC 3.12 on the PC, if running PowerSDR and enable VAC
button, also get an error message stating "PortAudio Error"
I have both a 4 and a 6 and have not seen any difference between them for
SDR use.

I am shopping for a sound card. I see the M-audio series is available
in 4 channel, 6 channel, and 10 channel versions.

With VAC 3.1 (demo) installed on my PC, PowerSDR freezes while loading.
The freeze is at the start-up window at "Initializing PortAudio- 5
seconds". If I unintall VAC, then PowerSDR loads and works properly. I'm
using this now with a Creative MP-3+ usb card for use with a Softrock board.

Hi Tim, Gerald and all,
That is good advice, but don't forget to check the USB connection on
the set-up window. Ho

Tim,
I use a Heil PR-20. It is a good mike and not that expensive. I use
it with a FireBox which has a preamp. I bought a cable from Heil and
put a connector on it that fits the SDR-1000 box and I use a cable
from the SDR-1000 box into the FireBox. That way the PTT on the mike
stand and al
