Edwin, to do a quick and dirty check on your XG-1, first use it to calibrate your SDR-1000. Then connect your SDR-1000 to a dummy load, set it to CWU or CWL with a 500Hz filter setting, set the preamp to high and read the noise level in the RX digital meter (the yellow numbers above the analog
