Yes, the power switch is directly to the right of the phone plug. It has a
cool blue LED indicator for power.

Does it have a power switch? I can't see one in the low-rez photos.

Hi,
My other computer that I used to run PowerSDR before I started using
my Lap Top, went belly up this morning,, and frankly is not worth
repairing. There was someone who had dealer for a customized PC at a
good price, and I didn't bookmark the site. Any recommendations.

For example Jim describes an "RF module" which I think is a good distinction
between the analogue hardware and the digital hardware. So maybe the second

It is indeed challenging to convey what are essentially some brand new

Almost any mic will work and now the Heil Yaesu cable works also. Or you can
plug a pro mic directly into the balance Line in, add a little EQ and you'll
sound grate. No more MIC problems.

I had some minor difficulties hooking up microphones to the Flex 1000.
Many people here did a variety of things to make their favorite 'mike'
work.
I was wondering if something had been done to make the hookup of the
various microphones of the world easier and more flexible (or, has this

I was always impressed with the elegance of
the SDR-1000. I even find the microphone
connector and power switch superfluous.
The real sizzle is in the PowerSDR display.
Apparently bright and shiny objects are
an important consideration for part of
the market.

Just heard guys yakking on 14190, one of whom had seen the FLEX-5000 at
Visalia and said, "It doesn't look like it's made in a garage any more"
(apparently by contrast with his impression of the SDR-1000). He seemed
very impressed (as also with Elecraft's new K3), but I'm not

We made HUGE advances in the CW TX latency, etc. when we moved to full
duplex transmit before and during a trip I made to Austin in support of
work activities. Eric complete broke the way the radio is instantiated
and replaced it with a radio class architecture which allows complete
memory of

I the IP3 dynamic range and the blocking dynamic range are two different
things. I agree that the IP3 and blocking dynamic range will be roughly
the same throughput the coverage range of the SDR5000 by design.
In my experiments with the same detector that Flex is using, I get 107

Unless I'm mistaken, a highly possible thing, the 20KHz dynamic
blocking specification is the same -105 dB and at 50KHz it's -105 dB
also. Until D/A's get a couple more bits of resolution that is the
limit, close or far away it's the same number.
You end up with not so good numbers far away but
