I have a 5000 but may order a 1500 also, just to play around with. The
whole radio costs less than what I paid for the second Rx for my 5000! I need
some detailed specs first. Pictures would be nice too. I'm interested in seeing
what limitations the USB interface imposes on

Hi Dudley,
yes, I think this is the only one explain for my problem, my VISTA 64
bit is SP1 and digital sign

appears ready to use, this is false.
The hardware (F5K) is not seen by driver, stop !

Sounds like its time to take the XP fallback option or ask HP for the
32 bit version. I have heard where Dell has done the x64 to x32
relicensing but you can alway downgrade to XP. I think MS even has
just extended the time frame they will allow that. Why go thru the
pain for 800 mb of extra
Hi Neal,
I would be very happy if HP downgrade this PC's family to XP
but I think this is unlikely :-|
This PC was born as multimedia center, all in one, with a super
multitouch 22 wide screen.
I have explored deep the HP website but there are not informations

I have a Flex-Radio SDR-1000 with a FA-66 firewire soundcard for sale. The
radio was purchased new in January of 2007 and I am the original owner. I
also have a universal control board that can control external devices. It is
currently wired to control elecraft transverters and comes with two
Try moving the cards, especially the 1394 card, to different slots on
your motherboard. This can result in the card using different interrupt
lines, which can change DPC/ISR latency.
It's not a slam-dunk of a solution, but it's worth trying.

You could order a 3000 and play with it until the 1500 comes out. The
more Flex the better (I even ordered a copy of Adobe Flex in honor of
my radio!)

I think its part of the OEM license from MS that they have to if
requested. Ask them and see if they will (theoretically all copies of
Vista have rights to a XP serial number). I think you have to talk
with customer support (my brother just went thru the exact same thing
with Dell). They will not
Jim,
Thanks for the interest in the FLEX-1500 and I understand your concern before
making a buying decision. You and a lot of other people (including myself) are
very interested in the FLEX-1500 QRP software defined radio and what it's
feature set will be. At this time the specifications for
Hi Harry,
My recommendations presented in priority order:
1. Visit www.tweakhound.com and follow his optimization steps for XP.
I would stay conservative (don't do any he doesn't do and on the
services take the conservative route). This will free up quite a bit
of disk and processor
2. Turn off
Jim,
Thanks for your interest.
Think of the FLEX-1500 somewhat like an improved version of the original 1W
QRP SDR-1000. Here are some of the key features:
* 160-6m TX at = 1W (5W under consideration)
* General coverage reception
* Internal ADC/DAC with 48 kHz maximum sampling rate
* Single
Hi all,
Audio dropout problem with my Flex5k has been solved.
I can't figure out what exactly was the cause but the EasyTune Utility
(hardware monitoring/overclocing tool which comes with gigabyte mother
board) seems to somehow conflict with Flex5k driver.
If you install and invoke the utility,

Make it 10W and it will be compatible with the KPA-100 amp from
Elecraft. I know they are competition but, frankly, the Flex 1500 is
positioned squarely in the same market as the K2. It
For some reason, when I click on RTTY spots in Writelogs Bandmap, sometime

On my 5000A the Panadapter and Signal Strength Meter differ by about 25 dBm
Any ideas?

Observe the spectral power in a 500 Hz filter.
I suspect you are using a wide filter and you have averaging enabled. Power is
calculated within the pass band of the RX filter.

The meter reads, as it is should, the sum (integral) of all the power inside
the filter. The noise floor on the panadapter will ALWAYS be less than the
meter as a result. This is correct and is why the meter is about the most
accurate one in amateur radio.
