I use a rtty tone as my ringtone for my phone, certainly gathers attention
in a crowd. And, if I don't answer your call, its because I kinda hear rtty
tones all the time.

Good point but it is not quite that bad. FWIW, I typically run my
Flex5000 at 1dB down from max output. That produces about 70W peak
The difference between 70W and 35W is only 3 dB Try running that 70W into a
properly loaded 3cx1500 with a good antenna and see if you still have no
complaints. Your signal will capture the bandwidth, AND the AGC and every body
else will be in the noise. That is what I am talking about.

Well, when I was running military transmitter sites, we had circuits running
PSK, and they ran at 10KW out of a Collins 208U/10 Linear Amp, and we use to do
it all the time at 10 KW with the new Collins HF 80 line.

I sometimes run a manual or external auto tuner on my Flex 3000.
PowerSDR makes the process very simple. In PowerSRD under the Setup
--> Transmit --> Tune tab you can set your tune power output level. I
have mine set to 5w so when I need to excite my external auto tuner
