Yes, it seems that decreasing the sensitivity of the PM has solved the lag
problems completely...! Now it reminds me of tuning my old Racal

Actually, after some testing and adjustment, I can use the Powermate with
no lag and a 100hz tuning step by decreasing the sensitivity in the PM
setup.... In fact, even stepping up to a 1khz step is now workng fine with
no lag or screen freeze...Seems like the USB buffer fills too fast with a
high sensitivity setting of the PowerMate....

Try a mouse with a good scroll wheel. Once you get used to it the
PowerMate will make a nice night light.

I finally managed to get my Flex5K up and running last night after a
weekend spent upgrading to an Intel E9550 quad core 2.83Ghz w/4GB Ram on
a ASUS P5Q Deluxe MB.
First impressions mean everything and I AM IMPRESSED....!
I am using a simple 110ft balun fed V with 40m traps, and only receiving
for now as I learn how to massage the settings....
My only peeve so far is the lag that occurs with the PowerMate VFO
control, but my guess is that it is a USB lag....
I'll be adding comments as I get familiar with the gear....
