My 5000 is doing the same thing, since the upgrade to the new Firewire

a burst of disk activity. For example, every time my anti-virus program

On my Flex3K, when tuning on 50mHz using either the mouse-wheel or the Griffin,
I get loud audio clicks which accompany the tuning steps.
It only seems to occur on 6M
Any ideas?

excellent virtual port program, VSP Manager .You can find it on

Tried to run with previously installed 1.18.2, not recognizing radio either.
Tried to go into demo mode with 1.18.2 and it also crashed.

For windows 7, it's best to use VSPmgr.
Virtual Audio Cables are sharable amongst applications as delivered..
So.. you can have multiple programs hooked up to a virtual audio cable ..
DDutil allows multiple programs to share the PowerSDR CAT com port.

Bob,
There is nothing wrong or out of calibration with your radio.
It will never return to S0 unless certain specific circumstances are met. The
S meter is showing the total (integrated) power within the RX passband filter.
For the S meter to read zero, the total power within the RX passband
Actually, I'd recommend VSPmanager for all versions of Windows. It is a must
for 64-bit versions of Win7 and Vista because the drivers are signed.

It has happened to me also, but with the F5Ka. I did just a PWSDSDR stop and

After a few enjoyable weeks with my Flex3K and my desktop,I fancied using the
F3K with my laptop.
Its a Toshiba Satellite P100 running Vista Home Premium and has a 4 wire
firewire socket.
Now this little socket is frail and the slightest movement of the Flex-supplied
cable causes it to freeze.
Download and run DPCLAT on the laptop.

My suspicion is that you have very long duration DPCs that coincide with the
driver loosing connection. Anything over 2000 us is not good. Getting a bunch
of them in a row is even worse. Once you exceed
Been there ... got the t-shirt. ;) I was traveling in Chile and it
took me days to figure out.
I would stay away from the little 4 wire sockets for exactly that reason.
I think I had to do a database reset (or something like that) to recover.
I assume it is 32 bit Vista?

Rephrase this again, not real sure what you are asking.. You can have an
antenna going separately to each receiver or combine them to one. RX1, RX2,

ARGH! RTF Knowledge Center!
Adjust the PowerSDR VAC RX Gain until you achieve a signal input reading of
between -4 and 0 dB.
