My 5000 is doing the same thing, since the upgrade to the new Firewire driver. Prior to the upgrade, Power SDR would occasionally freeze with a burst of disk activity. For example, every time my anti-virus program started, Power SDR would freeze. Now, instead of freezing, the receive audio gets

Bob, There is nothing wrong or out of calibration with your radio. It will never return to S0 unless certain specific circumstances are met. The S meter is showing the total (integrated) power within the RX passband filter. For the S meter to read zero, the total power within the RX passband

After a few enjoyable weeks with my Flex3K and my desktop,I fancied using the F3K with my laptop. Its a Toshiba Satellite P100 running Vista Home Premium and has a 4 wire firewire socket. Now this little socket is frail and the slightest movement of the Flex-supplied cable causes it to freeze.
