Mike,
Another benefit not yet mentioned by the others is working DX on 40m SSB.
RX2 allows you to listen to the DX station his receive (pile-up) frequency
simultaneously.
I am a single-antenna station use RX2 in this way all the time.

Mike,
When you install the new version, it will be installed in a new directory.
That way, all of your previous settings are saved automatically. You just
have to move them to the new database. To make this easier, I have written
a free utility called SDRDataTransfer. You can download it from
But can't you do this simply with VFO B, without an RX2?

The new PowerSDR 2.0.19 RC1 seems to be quite good. It is the most
completely-working version I have seen. I can't find anything broken in it
with my limited usage. I have been running it for several days now with no
glitches. My caveats are: I don't run CW and I don't usually run Phone so I

I was just wondering if anyone else using CW decoding software has improved

Perhaps it's just my imagination but... it seems to decode better than .16.

Not outside the VFO-A sampling rate bandwidth and band. That is about 180K for
the F5K running at 192K.
With RX2 you have no band or bandwidth restriction.

To all concerned,
Thank you very much indeed for the new FlexRadio systems software update,
Though I only have an SDR-1000 still here. It was up and running in minutes.
I find the new display much better with the Black background and very clear
white markings
on all the the control buttons etc,
Mike,

On the other bands, yes, but not on 40m. MultiRX allows you to listen to 2
frequencies within the range of the panadapter, a maximum of about 80 kHz at
a sampling rate of 192 kHz a zoom factor of 1x, or about 160 kHz

As far as I am aware, the only new default settings that would be lost by
using SDRDataTransfer to transfer settings from an old database are Tim's

A new version of the SDRDataTransfer utility (v4.0.2) is available for
download.
There are no real changes in v4.0.2 over v4.0.1. It is really just a
re-compile of the source code re-build of the setup file.
With v4.0.1, some users were reporting an error message when trying to

Update:
I have been informed that the Flex management has decided to start shipping
all new radios with PowerSDR 2.0.19 RC1, so my previous recommendation for
staying with 1.18.6 until RC2 is released is now reversed. Go ahead and take
the plunge to 2.0.19 RC1 .

I am replying to both lists (yes, I know that is not allowed, but this is
important) since I have had this question asked several times.
They entire behavior of the digital mode RX filters has changed. Other than
changing the filter widths to something more usable for narrow band digital

There has been a lot of hoopla about CW on the Flex radios. Frankly, they
didn't work very well on CW for many people. This made me very interested in
how the new version would work given how much emphasis has been put on CW
lately.
I have both a Flex 5000a (RX2 and ATU, no VU5K) and a Flex 1500

I can sympathize with you, but the most difficult part of any software

for the software to be stable (no changes) the manual writer to have the

I am running a Flex 5000A with Audio settings – Buffer 512 – Sample Rate 4800

When using an external keyer and using semi break-in, I find if a dit is sent
at about 25 wpm, it is lengthened. For example, if an ’I'’ ( .. ) is sent,
the Flex will output ‘N’ ( _. ) instead

Sure. It's just a paddle closure. You would just connect the straight key
to the tip and leave nothing on the ring. Put ground on the sleeve. Same
wiring really, just turn Iambic off on the software.

Hi Tim,
I'm confused. Does the notice that the latest beta/RC1 is now shipping
(and being discussed here rather than on the edge) mean that PSDR 2.0 is
now officially released as the current production version?
I took the plunge and installed 2.0.19 while in the middle of the ARRL
DX CW
Bill,
Interesting to hear you are having problems. I used my 5000 this past
weekend in the ARRL DX go round, using a K1EL keyer, and operating between
27 to 35 wpm, and a couple of times up to 40 wpm on some smart guys that
refused to slow down ;o)) Absolutely no problems such as you described,
I installed 2.0.19 RC1 and am using it with my 5000A. On 20m phone, ANF
works very well. It knocks carriers from people tuning up down to
inaudibility.
On 15 meters, however, ANF barely makes a difference. I'd say it only knocks
carriers down by about 20 dB.
Has anyone else seen this? Why should
