Yes. It appears that your computer setup is the same high quality as your
camera work.

My computer was recommended by Neal, any more insults?
It was a quick video, but since you are into examining camera work check these

I expect you will be fair minded? Flex posted some on their site

The first step is to look at what processes are running when you start up.
Then dig deeper into
the PowerSDR process to see what handles are in use, perhaps locked. This is
more than likely
due to another process hooking and delaying the startup.
SysInternals Process Explorer is the tool of
What, me insulting? I said high quality, and you read an insult. You are,
however, beginning to get on my nerves. You're obviously having computer issues
unrelated to PowerSDR (which are causing PSDR to crash and freeze), because
this is not a common occurrence among the thousands of PSDR
I downloaded and ran the program however there is a lot of information there
that I am clueless to understand. What am I looking for? Also when PowerSDR
freezes on startup it is not all the time and varies from 30 seconds to 3
minutes, that makes it harder to figure out
Some have already jumped
I thought when you said high quality you were being sarcastic, silly me.
One of the dumbest things I did was getting a computer recommended by Neal over
actually getting one from him. If I bought from him I have a feeling I would
never have a problem and I suggest anyone reading this do not
Burt,
Fix your computer and, amazingly, PowerSDR will be fixed.

What do you think is wrong with my computer?
So my computer broke at the exact instant I upgraded my PowerSDR version?
Because this is a new problem.
I did not think hardware could break from a software upgrade
However after listening to you on AM I know you know your stuff
So like Alfred E.
Highly unlikely this is a hardware issue. I am confident you have a
os/software configuration
issue. It's fixable. If you do not understand the information presented
by the Process

You may not have a broken hardware problem . You may have a hardware
compatibility problem or a software compatibility problem. The first thing I
would do is to install PowerSDR on a different computer and see how it
works. This assumes a second computer is available. This can help you
Is this a FLEX-1500 or FLEX-3000?

I just turned up a Griffin USB knob which I assume can be used with my
Flex5K. But is it worth it? Do I need a driver for it and I assume that the
USB cable would plug into any available USB port? But again, is it worth it
for Flex tuning control?

Burt, it sounds like you have anti-virus or some other
software running a scan when you first start up. A lot
of that type software wants total control and won't let
us really dumb users do anything until it's finished.

I've got one of those, and the other big USB ShuttlePro Super Mouse thing.
I've gone through setting them up, doing the configurations, and for a
casual user like myself, it's not worth it.
I prefer to use just my Logitch Trackman Wheel, as It does everything I
need, and it's easier to use.

Quite possible! The worst are AV updates, followed
I use a Shuttle Pro V2 for other applications but I was not happy with
it at all for PowerSDR. Like Jim, I'm now using my mouse (Logitech MX
Revolution), which has assignable buttons/wheels. Works great. I can
operate most of the PowerSDR functions from the mouse. This is my
current setup -
I upgraded to PowerSDR 2.2.3. Now, the screen picture is cut off by the
boarder on the left and right. Only part of the 60, 20, 12 meter buttons are
visible. On the left side of the screen the same thing occurs. I have gone
through all of the screen resolution adjustments and the issue is
Check your desktop icon size. Just went through this with a friend
and his icons were at 125% causing the problem.

Alan,
The invalid driver error is likely caused if you have VAC enabled
before you select WDM-KS.
You should disable VAC, Select WDM-KS, Select your VAC cables, and then
enable VAC.
I has caught me a few times..

I used the Griffin Powermate to tune with and liked it much better
than the mouse. I now use the FlexControl know to tune with and use
the Griffin to control AF and AGC-T gain.

I concur with Brian. I have owned the 3000 but sold to upgrade to the 5000
for the ability to do VHF/UHF and a second rx. That's the rub with the 3000
but then it was designed as a portable DXpedition rig (which it does
extremely well!). The 3000 is a great home station rig too, it's only
I used the Powermate until I got my FlexControl. It is a well made little
