Not ALL the amps made by RM Italy are CB type and non-filtered. They have a few
models made specifically for the ham bands - they include an ALC and PTT line on
the back, and switchable band filtering for all the ham bands from 160 - 10
meters.
I have the RM Italy BLA-350. It includes a
I've heard that often. Is there any test documentation available to
back that assertion up?

The issue is overdrive.
I have a HLA300v that has plenty of gain and the F1500 is a good match at 5W.
300W at 160m, lower gain at 10m. They use 4 SD1446 75W transistors. PEP claims
are double reality. New version has MRF455 60W bipolars.
Clean to about 200W level with output filtering and
Maybe. It does not tell you if the bandwidth is affected.
I have used hardware versions of this (the link appears to be software, it is
not clear) with limited results.

One of the main problem with these amps are the UNregulated bias supply .
The bias that sets the class of the amp will vary greatly when it is not
regulated . . Also the amps are highly overrated as far as power output. A

So...lets say 40 mtrs...with 5 in how much out?

Patrick,I found that DDutil supports the Flex Knob even better than PowerSDR
does. It gives more control options, expecially some I wanted. In addition,
since I have a little VB script to start everything in order and delay starts
by a few seconds, DDutil brings up the Knob after PSDR is up

Viewed mine on a spec analyzer and it looks better than 99% of the tube amps
available to the ham market today... I think most of the people that are
commenting negatively have never actually owned one and tested it. Common
problem.

Colleagues,
My Flex-5000 with the second receiver and antenna tuner has been working fine
for about two years under various versions of PowerSDR (currently at 2.3.5
under Windows 7/32). I started noticing problems with the tuner yesterday

Hi George!
Take a look at the Brand New TenTec 518 QRP to 100 W Amplifier ( 160-6M
coverage! ).
I saw it at Dayton - Awesome!
It is waiting for FCC approval - should be available for purchase any
day now.
Pictures and a write up on the http://qrper.com web site...
I think Chris intended this to go to the group…

I'm am by no means an expert, but I recently went through the process of
addressing audio concerns on my 5K. You don't specify exactly what was bad
about your TX audio, but the three big symptoms seems to be echos, distortion
and poor tonal balance.
Echos have a simple cause, once you

Jim, thanks for the good detailed actionable information. I’m a newbie on much
of this and it may take me a while to get comfortable and longer to get
knowledgeable. I may be slow but I’m not stopped!
Thanks again,

One would hope that all of the default parameters would be such that a
simple mic gain adjustment to allow for different microphones and voice
levels would be sufficient.
