Yse, I too would very much appreciate an updated how to do it article on
setting up remote for a Flex. I have a 3000 and have been struggling with
VAC, Team Viewer and Skype for weeks... Yes, sometimes I can get it to work
sort of but for me I really feel I am on my own and I hve no one who

I got excited about the install and config service until I saw the price. WAY
above my pay grade. Guess I will continue to blunder along trying to use a
computer geeks radio without the basic computer technical knowledge. I have no
idea what the instructions are saying. Perhaps I should
The installation service is $99.99 which admittedly is not something
everyone can afford but its a shame to have such a nice radio when you are
$99.99 away from having it fully ready to go!

C'mon, Travis- a hundred bucks ain't even a 50 foot length of good coax.
An awful lot of non-techie, non-IT guys use Flexes all the time. If you need
'personal assistance' to use some of the advanced interfacing with third party
software, you either have to be real nice, or pay for it.
We could always start up a Travis fund...

Travis,
There is great feeling of satisfaction when you do this yourself. It's not
that hard. Try YouTube for good videos on setup. This step-by-step comes

I also recommend WSJT-X instead of WSJT.
There is still difficulty setting up VAC (I finally, after some help here
and some struggles, got the interrupt parameters right) but I would suggest
that WSJT-X itself is easier and somehow more forgiving. It also dispenses
with the manual port number
Hey Tom,
It appears to me that Neal is offering help to those that don't buy his Flex
ready PC's.
I have one and he is very generous with his time and help.
Your RANT is totally uncalled for.

Flex does not supply the PC.

You're right, at least some of the old docs are still around there too.
Finding what you need is the problem, and then figuring out whether or
not it is still applicable today,
Ditto. And VAC and WJST are not their programs so I would not expect them
to provide support for them.

Forget VAC
Give VB-Cable a try instead,
I found it too be a better more stable reliable virtual cabling solution.
VB-Audio CABLE is a Windows Audio Driver working as Virtual Audio Cable.
Thanks to its Multi-Format Audio Engine, VB-CABLE can be used without any
configuration! Ready to work with
What an embarrassment to see that this is how we treat a fellow amateur
asking for a little help! Belittling someone who can't or doesn't want
to spend $100 on something, and who maybe just needs that one extra bit
of information the get everything working takes crass behavior to new
lows.

I was at wits end with remote until I found RCFOrb. Easy to install, everything
including audio is included, good support board, donations accepted but not
required. And the darn thing works!
