Pete,
Can you explain why you feel the Elecraft teransverter are 'far
better' then the DEMI units? Just curious as they both claim a .8dB
NF, +17dBm conversion gain, etc. I'm also concerned with the lack of
a heat sink on the PA's on the Electrafts. I've run the DEMI's for
hours on
Hi Everyone,
Found a really cool product under development at:

They have basically developed magnetic knobs that attach directly to a
lcd display. Supports both mouse commands and MIDI. You can even
have multiple knobs for different
Jim,
That's exactly why I think there is some positive feedback on the
Indian rig. Add the Atlas/Ozy/Janus combo to it and you are close to
the $1000 board you mentioned. If FRS or someone else offered a 5000
series style (integrated sound card) 1W board for $1000 I'd buy it.
I've been
I can't agree more with Peter on this point. I was saddened by the
discontinuation of the 1W SDR-1000 though I understand it from FRS's
business standpoint. For my VHF+ work I just can't justify dropping
about 3K on a 5000a to be used as a 10m IF. And for $479 the Indian
board sure
Don't forget ARR, either rf switched or receive only.

I use a combination of ARR and DEMI pre-amps on 6m through 23cm. I
like the DEMI a little better but Steve has been very busy and things
are taking a long time. ARR has always responded right
I think the confusion was that in a recent svn version if you dragged
the window down you would find controls to enable the panadapter/
waterfall combo. The latest svn version does not have that feature
any longer or if it is there it is unaccessible because dragging the
window now makes
Hi all,
Can someone on the list that has integrated the Janus/Ozy combo with a
SDR-1000 drop me an email ([EMAIL PROTECTED])? I have a couple of
specific questions in regards to this setup.
Thanks,
Dana

I would build something like a DEMI PTT buffer board (which I use) or
W1GHZ fool proof sequencer with a rf realy. If the radio went into
transmit the relay switches out to a dummy load. Of course the relay
should be in fail safe mode. Remember to enable X2 TR Sequencing in

Tim,
Yes it works. There is no stock Mac that comes with a parallel port
so it's really the only option.
FYI, it also works in the native OS X environment using G0ORX/N6LYT's
java gui.

Hi Phil,
There are many options. I personally use a Linux firewall. You can
create one with any distribution. There are even distros that are
specifically firewall/vpn like IPCop (http://ipcop.org) and M0n0wall
(http://m0n0.ch/wall/
). These can be burned to a CD or loaded on a flash
Geez, I thought I did that back on 12/2. I guess non-frequent
posters are not taken seriously around here...
I'll go back to lurking.

Try Shift+F10 for the right click. A quick Google search also shows
that the right apple key also provides the same functionality though I
haven't verified this yet.
If you want to remap it to another key get Input Remapper
(http://www.olofsson.info/
) or autohotkey
Jim,
Yes they will. However, if you have a Mini you might have to download
the Intel version of the SigmaTel audio driver. The one that got
installed w/ Bootcamp beta didn't work properly with VAC. This may
have changed with the final Bootcamp release so you might want to try
it before
I've seen Tim mention a few times that he is looking for info
regarding running PowerSDR on a Mac. The long and short of it is,
that as of now the only 'official' Mac OS that can run Boot Camp is OS
X 10.5 (Leopard) and only on Intel based Macs.
If you upgrade from a prior version of OS X,
