In HRD there is the documented delay on PTT if controlled via HRD and CAT.
Therefore, I simply use a second pair of Vcom ports for PTT in DM780.There

There is a known delay on PTT in HRD when PTT is controlled by CAT via a

It was thought that Vcom or com0com might be the problem. I have tried the

I doubt there's any difference: I must test this with F5JD -
I have HRD v5 running on my SDR-1000 using VAC and com0com.
There is still the few seconds delay when PTT goes via CAT control. No delay
when PTT control goes via second virtual Com port.
So, for HRD, I continue using CAT except for PTT. There is no such delay on
PTT with MixW nor with Multip
This is the same here with HRD-DM780 on SDR-1000. I use CAT with Com0Com
except for PTT control. HRD is configured for PTT control with an extra Vcom
port. I got this advise from someone on this reflector and it works perfect.
I never see this delay with MixW nor with Multipsk nor with Winwarbl

Using virtual com ports Com0Com in v1.16.1 for CAT and PTT control of HRD-DM780

The virtual com port for PTT control is not recognised as a valid port number

Any idea ?

Chris,
Try John's N3WT solution. It worked fine for me to. No longer any PTT
latency with HRD and DM780 with John's setup. I never had this PTT latency
problem with MixW, Multipsk nor Winwarbler. So, it's a HRD issue only.
Good luck.
Eddy ON5UQ.
I notice the same latency with HRD, and only

Eddy,
If you are using HRD with DDUtil, you may need to disable any unused
RCP2,RCP3 or RCP4 ports.
Just a thought.

SDR-1000 and Delta44 sound card and using MixW, Multipsk, Winwarbler and HRD.
All programs using Vac and Vcom for PSK.
With HRD only, I notice up to 3 seconds latency between clicking TX or RX in
HRD - DM78O and the transceiver actually going from RX to TX or vice versa. It
is the same with Vco
eiver is -29 to -30dB.
Again, thanks a lot and 73.

Tim,
Can you give some information why it is preffered to leave the Drive at 100
Watts and turn the RF output down with the TX Audio Gain ?
I use to set the Drive to 30 Watts in PSK on my SDR-1000 and leave the TX
Audio Gain unchanged. I understand this is not the best way, is it ?

Hello Scott,
It's running fine here with me on Windows XP SP2 and SDR-1000. I have

Winwarbler.
WSPR settings are Audio in 0 and Audio out 0. Don't forge
Is there anyone remote operating the SDR-1000 who build the special cable for

This my be off topic but there may be someone who had the same problem and be
able to help.
Until today, I never had any problem with PowerSDR on my computer P4 and
Windows XP SP2. CPU usage was never more than 20%. Even with antivirus and
other software running.
Today my ISP replaced the netw
SDR1000 with Audio Delta 44 sound card.
Happy to report that the Audio Balance Test is working again from SVN 2047.
I had sent this problem to the bug list only a couple of days ago.
Thanks a lot to all the hard working Flex people !
