I finally installed the 2nd receiver in my F5K. Wow! What a fabulous
feature. With the 2nd receiver, I can work 40 meters, and watch for a

When I turn multi receive on, I can hear both frequencies when I work

For my FlexPedition to Bequia (J8K2CM) I took my Dell dual core laptop
with me along with the F3K. Everything worked right out of the box;
however, I had problems with the realtime anti-virus scan hogging the
system causing my word processor, my spreadsheet, internet, and PSDR to

I had this exact same problem when in Bequia. I could not get an RF
ground. I would key the rig and the computer would lock up. RF cores
everywhere fixed the problem! If you don't have any RF cores, try
putting a good RF ground to a ground rod to the F3K.

The FlexPedition with the F3K to the island of Bequia as J8K2CM was a lot of

from the printers.
The F3K worked flawlessly; however, I had problems with RF getting into the

I received an email from a ham who had his F5K memory messed up by
airline security luggage xrays. I was given a recommendation to put the
F3K in my carry on luggage for my up-coming FlexPedition to Bequia.
I regularly carry a laptop with me when traveling by air and have never
had an issue.
Try turning off the wireless adapter, then go into your anti-virus program and
turn off the file scan. Give that a try.
