In my config I have the Flex 5000 running from a compact Shuttle machine
running XP, and remote desktop to it from a number of different XP machines.
It works fine, if I remember correctly you need to select the option Leave
at remote computer for remote computer sound under the Local Resources
I use IP-Sound, Ron. However, I only use it on the wired and wireless LAN
around the house and garden, I've never tried using it from a remote site
via the web.

I've noticed an odd set of spurious signals on my Flex 5000A, on both RX1
and RX2 - they may have been there for a while, but, as I don't usually
venture above 40M I haven't noticed them. I'm wondering if it's a known
problem?
I noticed them first on 10M, they show up as a group of three

Disconnect the antennas and see if the signals decrease in intensity. If so
the source is external of the radio.

Bad news about the change to the V/U module spec. Being outside the US, and
not wanting to be without the radio for an extended period or risk shipping
it, I would've gone for the self-install 30W version. Looks like I've just
been converted from a good sale prospect into definitely not a sale
Evening all,
I changed to PowerSDR v1.14 a few hours back, all seemed pretty much OK
until I tried transmitting on 160 metres. In the Forward Power, Reflected
Power and SWR positions I'm getting an indication of NaN W (in the power
readings) and NaN:1 in the SWR readings. It's not immediate
I'd like to know the answer to that one as well, Charlie - it'd be the icing
on the cake so far as I'm concerned!
It's got to be good for Flex - they'd be the only people producing a
multimode amateur transceiver with provision for four metres (I think the
FT847 can be excluded, given that
Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions about this problem.
Although the Firewire interface does share an IRQ with one other device
(it's a motherboard interface and therefore difficult to change), the Flex
has been running for several months without a problem (it's frequently been

So, now the problem is to try to make it happen again...

Hi,
Since upgrading to V1.12.0, I've noticed that PowerSDR hangs occasionally.
It usually runs OK for an hour or so before doing this. I didn't have the
problem before upgrading -has anybody else noticed this?
I'm running it on a Shuttle PC, 3.6GHz CPU with 2GB RAM, the O/S is XP - the
