Can anyone please tell me how relay K2 is actuated and when? I can see it
sets the gain of the INA163's, but don't understand what effect this has on
the overall operation of the receiver. The values of R20 and R5 aren't

Jeff;
I might have missed seeing someone suggest this, but I had a similar problem
that turned out to be an overactive virus detection program. I uninstalled
Symantec and installed the free Avast!. Voila, vastly reduced "periodic"
high cpu rates. Besides being free, it's a very good program.

There's a company out there advertising as CWSByteMark that sells ferrites

They are LOUSY!
I placed two separate orders with them and couldn't get even status for
weeks. After an interminable wait, and numerous unanswered emails, I
FINALLY got the orders in hand.

Please excuse a really dumb question: Why NOT use Java??? Seems to me for
an Open Source project such as this, that would be the first choice.

Rick;
I'm waiting for the version that uses the free tools, which should be coming
soon. I don't want to invest in current tools if they are going to be
obsolete in the near future. But you're right; getting into the code is
going to be interesting.

You can bet it's just rf getting into the shack. Had the same thing happen
to me. Took care of the high SWR, and voila! No more problems. You also
might try ferrites on the cables.

I'm delighted to hear that you are updating the console to work with 1.6.2.
I'm using it exclusively and it's a pleasure to operate the SDR with it.

Dave;
I don't know if this is your problem, but I've had similar things happen due
to very high SWR at the antenna. I know that the ATU advertises that it
will tune 10:1, but if the reactance is too high, it won't come close to
that. See if you have the same problem on frequencies that you know
Ken;
I had the exact same problem and found out that it was caused by high SWR,
so double check your antenna connections and tuning. And be sure your tuner
stays in MEM mode when you transmit after tuning it.
Hope this helps,

I've just had an interesting experience trying to get my SDR to work
properly, and I think it might be worthwhile to share this info. I couldn't
get the radio to transmit any power; either in tune or otherwise. The ATU

Gentlemen;
Martin suggested that it might be an antenna problem.
Taking that suggestion to heart, I switched the antenna to my IC-735 and
just worked Canada QRP on 40 meters CW. SWR without a tuner was about
2.2:1. I then tuned up the SDR on the same frequency and heard nothing -
