I thank everyone for their criticism, positive comments, negative
comments, etc. on the new architecture thread that were aimed in my
direction. I cannot speak for Flex, since I don't work for them or have
a financial interest in Flex, but I have a couple of comments.

Hi Bruce
But look at all the improvements we have gotten in that 4 year period!
The software hasn't stood still at all and seems to be going into
only-dreamed-upon territory with the work that Bob and Eric are doing.
Plus the introduction of new radios which you may think does not

This has been ongoing for about four years now !!
Maybe Next Year --- ???
Thank God this is just a Hobby

Geez, guys... Why is it that any time anybody raises just a little
negative criticism they get jumped on? Give Barry a break.
Barry, and all of us, bought a radio an integral part of which is the
software that runs on a host PC. That software is pretty good, but it's

The question is whether you want something now or something that we
know works. Its kinda like the people who complain when flights are
delayed due to weather: do you really want to fly in a plane that the
pilot doesn't want to fly?
As with all "new architectures" (I am sure its your experi
Bob has put in thousands of hours into the development of this software. In
fact the reason you have such a nice radio to use is in no small part because
it came out of the brain of N4HY. I did not find his response in the least
offensive.

Hi Bob,
It's "both obvious and seems prudent" to me (I've been in the
engineering business for more than 30 years now) that you don't
release alpha code to the general public for the reasons you have
implied. It's also "both obvious and seems prudent" that you
you don't put forth false promise
r it yet. Just low level components are talking to one another.

Can anyone point me to where the "new architecture" alpha code (SVN)
resides? I'd like to start testing it.
