Something is wrong when -40 produces enough audio for overload. Could you give us a screenshot of PowerSDR? In your PSDR setup, you don't need to check enable VAC AND enable VAC for digital modes. The first checkbox leaves VAC on all the time while the second checkbox turns it on only when you do
