You can actually do this two different ways. You can either use two different series labels: Numbered list N: and N: Alpha list A: and A: Or you can use 1 series label for this. Numbered and alpha list: to show numbers N:.< > and N: .< > to show alpha N:< >. and N:< >. Either way works. Let

Except for the font family, superscript, and subscript properties, FrameMaker does not replicate any character formatting from the target of the cross-reference. This is especially problematic when _part_ of a target has a character format applied, as in your case. Any work-arounds for this are
