I've been replacing my APC batteries for awhile now and
I did remove the PRAM battery and the processor in an earlier attempt
with no results.
I just tried removing the power board and the machine refused to do
anything.
Since the logic board swap failed, I feel that leaves me with one of
two choices: The sound board or the power board.

most likely suspect?
Well the machine won't run with out the power or sound board, I was
suggesting swapping for a known good one.

If your machine can handle it, I would try to upgrade the operating
system to 9.9.2. That may solve your problem. If not, then I would
reinstall the system you have on there (or do a install in place -

yes, that's what i was thinking too...
two questions:
- can i burn the extension from another computer (running 9.2, i'm running
9.1) onto a disk and use that?
- if i do a clean install, will that wipe all my files, preferences etc.
off the computer?

Clean install saves the old system folder and installs a new system
folder. Once you restart you can drag your old preferences etc into
the new system folder. You can try copying the extension from another
machine it should/might work.
By the way some of your older apps like Explorer might
i just tried copying the extension from a 9.2.2 system and although both

I just loaded Tiger onto my G3 Dual-USB iBook with the 9.24GB capacity

Two questions:
1. Can a reasonably handy person (rebuilt the carburetor for my 1965

Just out of curiosity, how much room did 10.4 take up? I know 10.3 take
up 2 gigs and I can't imagine 10.4 taking up much more

Same as before, replace it using TomeViewer. Note that it loads
additional files so it may well
