I've downloaded MacTheRipper to rip a DVD (Spaceballs) to shrink and
put on my T3, but the app keeps crashing (MacTheRipper has
unexpectedly quit). I've reinstalled, run repair permissions,
rebooted, nothing seems to help. Any advice?
My specs are G3 700 iBook, 684 ram, OS10.3.9, to a Sony DVD

So far the school has kept all their laptops, including the colored iBooks
which they use for mobile computer labs. The majority of students here are
using desktop computers and very few have laptops.

I don't think it is that. I can rip fine with my G3 ibook 600.
I can rip with a Wallstreet, a Lombard, and a Pismo. All day and all
night. 100 percent success.
I cannot successfully burn a usable disk in any of those, however, and
the drive is fully supported with PatchBurn, as necessary,
