Laurent,
I don't have a suggestion for your router problems, but I'm having a
weird problem with Cox since I switched over from Roadrunner. Our Cox
system is configured to hand out IPs like candy, and I have a Linksys
WAP which doesn't do NAT. (I bought it before I joined this list)
Anyway, Cox
Good thing you didn't install that 500mHz Sonnet card, huh?
New information: Upon looking a bit closer at the System Profile, I
just noticed that my new/used PowerBook G3-300 runs at 450.
Apparently there is some sort of upgrade card inside. Funny that the
eBay seller didn't mention
BTW Matthew -
You can run benchmarks against it to see how fast it's really running. I
noticed a considerable benchmark speed bump when I upgraded my

lost audio. I just got tiny bits and pieces of audio. Is this a RAM
issue? Is 192MB not enough? Could it be my Firewire card?
Any advice on any of these topics would be sincerely appreciated.

James,
If you can somehow get your 250 to Phoenix, http://www.pbparts.com does
a great job with these sorts of repairs. He doesn't charge for labor,
just for parts, and it's very reasonable. I am a satisfied customer. Do
you ever get to the States?

something (I can't remember what it's called, but it provides power to

In reference to Firewire Target Disk Mode which we have been talking
about for a while. Where can I buy a Firewire 6 Pin to 6 Pin cable right
now? I need one immediately!
Thanks,

Someone asked a few days ago if I had noticed a nice speed bump with my
Sonnet upgrade and I neglected to respond right away.
The answer is yes, I like it very much, but I don't know if the jump
from 300 to 500 will be as viscerally satisfying as you might expect.
Now that the 700mHz iBook is
On a related note, does anyone know of a way I can put my WS PB into
Firewire Target disk mode (I have an OrangeLink Firewire Card), or
something like it? I have some digital video work to do at home which
my PB can handle, but the files are on my work machine. Thanks.
I think I've read
Transmit for OS 9/X is not free, but it is a GREAT utility and it's
worth $24.95, IMO.

Hello everyone. I have a Wallstreet 300/192/30. When I get a kernel
panic or something untoward happens and I have to restart, my machine
boots back into OS 9. Ack! I have OS9 on a separate partition. I don't
want to install it on my OS X partition and I don't want to repartition
and start over.
